Bethesda Fountain Wedding in Central Park | Neish & Tish
- CEREMONY:BETHESDA FOUNTAIN
- PORTRAITS:BETHESDA TERRACE, THE MALL, BOW BRIDGE
- PHOTOGRAPHER:EVERLY STUDIOS
Coming from Jamaica and Trinidad, Neish and Tish knew that they wanted a laid-back, non-traditional, colorful wedding at an iconic New York location, full of queer-love and celebration. I say this emphatically: their Bethesda Fountain wedding in Central Park was exactly that.
When I met the pair in the early morning at Bethesda Terrace, their bright wedding garb immediately made the 7am call-time a distant memory. Tish’s red mermaid gown coordinated perfectly with Neish’s red bow-tie and pocket square. Plus, in a reversal of tradition, it was the groom, not bride, who was dressed in white. Their wedding rings were also colorful and nontraditional: in an intimate exchange of personal vows, the pair exchanged a heart-shaped opal and a turquoise band.
Despite the pair claiming to be awkward in front of the camera, the entire session was effortless grace and easy laughter. It was wonderful to take advantage of Bethesda Terrace before crowds piled in. And to spend that time celebrating these two? Icing on the cake.
