I live in Brooklyn, so it’s always fun when a pair of fellow Brooklynites decide on a wedding at Prospect Park Boathouse, a historic and locally beloved landmark in our fair borough, nestled in the heart of the park.
Though the morning weather started off a little iffy, the clouds miraculously kept the rain at bay while we hit some of my favorite local photo haunts: the Brooklyn Bridge Park waterfront, St. Ann’s Warehouse and some brightly colored street art in the area. Afterward, we headed to the Boathouse and found it transformed for a picture-perfect spring wedding. Lush florals were draped over the wedding arch, overlooking the lake and Lullwater Bridge. Personalized cat-themed touches honoring the couple’s two beloved pets were woven throughout (just check out that laser-cut cake-topper!). And after a heartfelt ceremony, when the live band picked up and the hora got going, there wasn’t a single butt in the seats.
Cats, cake and a crowded, sweaty dance floor? No doubt about it — count me in.
