NYC Restaurant Wedding at Bobo | Leslie + Frederic
When Leslie and Frederic started planning their wedding, they knew they wanted something intimate, romantic, and quintessentially New York. Their NYC restaurant wedding at Bobo in the West Village delivered all of that and more—a perfect blend of Parisian charm and downtown Manhattan sophistication for their microwedding.
The couple chose Bobo specifically for its Parisian charm and multiple event spaces. Unlike typical NYC restaurant venues that might feel limited, Bobo is a tri-level townhouse that offered them variety: a garden for their ceremony, a basement space for cocktails, and the main parlor for their wedding lunch. This venue gave them three separate spaces in one beautifully cohesive location. Add to it plenty of romantic florals and a five-piece band, and they could focus on what mattered most: great food, close friends and family, and an atmosphere that felt genuinely like them.
The morning-of, we strolled past West Village townhouses and tree-lined streets before having their usual ritual of sharing a croissant, coffee and the New York Times at Pastis — a perfect pre-NYC restaurant wedding moment that was both relaxed and intentional.
When we got to Bobo, the restaurant was beautifully draped in soft peach, pink, taupe, and cream florals. The dried grasses and organic elements brought bohemian texture while the elegant setting kept everything feeling elevated. And the canopy installation was a showstopper—it really transformed the garden ceremony space into something magical.
After the ceremony, guests were free to eat, drink and be merry, dancing to the five-piece band during cocktail hour and chatting around farmhouse tables during the plated dinner. It was relaxed and casual, yet still and classy. For anyone looking for a relaxed and casual, yet still classy venue, I’m convinced a New York restaurant wedding is the way to go.
Why Bobo Works for NYC Restaurant Weddings
- Multiple spaces for different moments. The garden ceremony, basement cocktail hour, and parlor dining area created distinct experiences throughout the day without ever leaving the venue.
- Parisian charm in the West Village. The townhouse setting offers that rare combination of European romance and Manhattan sophistication.
- Intimate by design. Bobo is perfect for microweddings and small celebrations, able to seat as few as 30 or as many as 80 guests.
- Exceptional cuisine. This is a legitimate French restaurant, not just a venue that happens to serve food. The quality shows.
- Flexibility for personalization. Couples can bring in their own design team to create the aesthetic they want.
