Jack and Shinji’s Brooklyn Proposal by the Manhattan Skyline

On an unseasonably warm December night, Jack knew he was going to propose to his girlfriend of four years, Shinji. While they were both away at an omakase dinner, I met up with Jack’s roommate at WNYC Transmitter Park in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, only a few blocks away from where the pair lived. Jack’s roommate was carrying a large bouquet of red roses; I had my telephoto lens ready. We sat on a specific bench right on the waterfront with the Manhattan skyline glowing across the East River, and then I got a text from Jack: On our way. Over the next few minutes, Jack led Shinji to the bench, surprising her with the flowers and the card. Eventually he got down on one knee; she said yes.
