Romantic and Small NYC City Hall Wedding | Samantha & Vincent
- CEREMONY:MANHATTAN MARRIAGE BUREAU
- PORTRAITS:BOWERY HOTEL, BROOKLYN BRIDGE PARK
- PHOTOGRAPHER:EVERLY STUDIOS
For Samantha and Vincent, “just a small NYC City Hall wedding” meant Jimmy Choos and champagne at 9am (just a little!). It meant having their immediate families alternately wipe away happy tears and playfully rib them with jokes. It meant braving the humidity of a 90-degree summer day in a button-down and jacket, and climbing across cobblestones in 3-inch heels, to get the perfect Brooklyn Bridge shot. And through it all, these two were just the most easy-going, gracious and delightfully cute couple I could’ve asked for.
After getting ready at the Bowery Hotel, Samantha and Vincent flagged down a cab, and we headed uptown to meet their families at the Manhattan Marriage Bureau and say their “I dos.” The couple had the inside track with an employee at the City Clerk’s Office, allowing us to fast-track through the queue (definite bonus), and though the ceremony was brief, it was moving enough to cause a few guests to pull out their tissues.
The newlyweds and I then headed over to Brooklyn Bridge Park to capture those iconic shots along the waterfront and in DUMBO. It was a muggy summer day, and there were swarms of people. Still, these two were true stars, handling everything with a smile.
If any other couples are thinking of an NYC City Hall wedding, I say, bring it. Here’s to proving “just a small NYC City Hall wedding” doesn’t have to be boring.
