Cali and JD’s New York elopement, published in The Knot!
There’s a lot to love about Cali and JD’s New York elopement at City Hall. Like how the forecast was predicting 90% thunderstorms, but the weather cleared to a perfect day. Or how the ladies all coincidentally wore green dresses. Or how, despite it being a Friday, we were in and out of the City Clerk’s Office in less than half an hour. Or how Cali’s vintage-inspired dress and veil matched The Campbell Apartment’s vintage style perfectly.
Or just how madly in love these two are.
These two Chicagoans wanted the quintessential New York elopement with an Old New York twist, starting with getting ready (and having their first look) at The Nomad Hotel, then taking a yellow cab to the Marriage Bureau. After exiting the ceremony to a bubble exit, the three of us headed uptown on the subway to Grand Central Station, taking a twirl in the sunlight streaming through the giant gilded windows before ending with a glass of champagne at The Campbell Apartment.
