Lizzy and Dave’s New York Elopement at Little Owl the Venue

Lizzy and Dave had contacted me about a year beforehand from the U.K., planning their perfect New York elopement. Unexpectedly, though, Hurricane Joaquin touched down along the eastern shore on that very morning, causing a downpour from the morning through the night.

But these guys never missed a beat. Armed with a heart-shaped umbrella and cheerful smiles, they switched their outdoor garden ceremony to one held indoors at Little Owl the Venue, and everything went off without a hitch. The ceremony went on as planned, complete with a confetti “exit.” We piled into in a vintage checkered NYC taxicab, stopping at Grand Central for some iconic portraits. The pair served marbled cheesecake as their wedding cake and gave away individually-wrapped Twinkies — the quintessential American treat — as wedding favors. In so many ways, this elopement couldn’t have been more New York.
