Sarah and Dev’s Chelsea Piers Sunset Terrace Wedding

Sarah and Dev had a clear vision for their Chelsea Piers Sunset Terrace wedding: minimal, glamorous and Great Gatsby-esque, showcasing their love for timeless Old New York.
A simple chuppah with garlands stood against the venue’s wall of windows, with the New Jersey skyline in the distance. The bride wore a lace dress accented with a Swarovski-studded headpiece. And even though we were in the middle of a raucous Chelsea Piers sports complex, and rainclouds threatened to break loose into summer showers at any moment, the night still went off without a hitch.
After a tearful first look under the chuppah (take note, brides: first looks are always a good idea), the couple said their “I dos” in front of family and friends. Champagne flowed, mini lobster rolls were passed, and a small mountain of cheese, fruits and crudite made it impossible not to graze.
What I loved most about their wedding was how unpretentious it was. Yes, there was a hockey game going on in the ice rink next door. And yes, you had to run across the West Side Highway to get to the venue. But at the end of the day, there were so many good vibes from friends and family. Thunderstorms be damned — it really was a great night.
