How to describe this Frankies 457 wedding in Brooklyn? In three words: whimsical, colorful and fun. Rather than agonizing over an overwrought evening celebration, Jamie and Clayton elected for a breezy summer afternoon soiree, choosing an indoor-outdoor restaurant venue that had “backyard garden party” vibes written all over it.
The couple’s easy-going personalities and playful humor also translated perfectly into the details: the bride carried a brightly colored summer bouquet and wore a custom off-the-shoulder dress with a feathered floral overlay. The groom, not to be outdone, chose a royal blue suit and socks decorated with New York subway lines.
After saying their vows under a chuppah of white birch branches entwined in greenery, family and friends spent the afternoon sipping champagne and passing platters of house-made gnocchi and cavatelli down the communal table. Wine and laughter flowed, and the couple was able to spend their time celebrating with guests.
Is there any better way to spend a summer afternoon? I think not.
