Sonia and Mark’s Wedding at Liberty Warehouse in Red Hook, Brooklyn

Sonia and Mark’s Liberty Warehouse Wedding
My fiance Mark and I are having an Indian-American/Ukrainian-American wedding, filled with quirk, dogs, henna ceremonies, music, and want to look for a photographer who has the talent to capture it in all its weirdness!
That was the opener of the first email Sonia sent me, and damn if I didn’t know right then that theirs was definitely an event I wanted to shoot! Their wedding at the Liberty Warehouse in Red Hook, Brooklyn, was the kind of elegantly fun-filled celebration I love to capture: women in colorful saris, two rambunctious dogs, a melding of cultural traditions, plus the craziest dance party with nary a butt left sitting on the sidelines (and yes, I am one of those photographers who heartily joins in — and then gets schooled by the bride’s uncle on the dance floor). Add a delightfully easy-going bride and groom, and you’ve got what a wedding is supposed to be all about: a complete visceral celebration, full of joy, laughter, and just enough “quirk” to make everything perfect.
